Michael D. Dexter, 49, of Burlington, Il passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL. He was born March 13, 1962 in Aurora, IL, the son of Gerald and Margaret Dexter. He was employed by the State of Illinois, Transportation Department (IDOT.)

In 1983, he married Diane Limong of Naperville, IL. This Union produced three children, Amy, Chad and Jeremy. Mike was blessed with one grandson, Cody Michael, termed as his bestest little buddy.

Mike "DEX" will long be remembered as a fun loving guy full of practical jokes and mischief. He enjoyed spending time with his family fishing and restoring antique vehicles. Most people have said that a man's best friend is his dog, but for Mike, there was nothing more dear to his heart than his Harley motorcycle. Mike and Diane enjoyed many hours of riding the country side with their family and friends.

Mike was extremely devoted to all his family and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Diane of Burlington, his children, Amy, Chad and Jeremy of Burligton, his grandson Cody, His Mother, Margaret Dexter of Montgomery, IL, Brother, Steve (Shari) Dexter of Plano, IL ,Sister, Sheri (John) Madison of Shrunk, KY Nieces and nephews: Nikki & Kyle Klatt ( Jake, Kaylee & Macie); Maggie Dexter (Alyssa); Steven Dexter; Justin & Mindy Jefferson (Ada, Lukas, & Titus); Jessica and Brian Storlie (Annabella & Olivia), His Mother-In-Law, Lois Klopatek, Brother-In-Law, Ken Limong (Dana, Carson & Alex), His Grandpuppy, Tyson his is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Gerald Dexter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 2, 2011 at Laird Funeral Home 310 S. State St. Elgin, IL. Entombmentwill be in Burlington Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-9 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the family for donation of the families choice. Family also wishes for those who can ride there motorcycles in the procession please do so in DEX's memory.
