Robert B. Sargent (Bob, Rob, Sarge)
of Elgin passed away on Friday Oct.19, 2012 on his 58th birthday after a 2 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bob was born on Oct. 19, 1954 in Elgin. He was the son of Norman and Barbara (Kroeber) Sargent. He was a graduate of Cary Grove High School in Cary, IL in 1972. He has been a resident of Elgin since 1981.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Deborah (Christiansen) Sargent whom he married on Sept. 26, 1981. His loving daughter Kristen, her husband Ryan Howarter and the joy of his life, his precious little granddaughter Kasey Annabelle.
Also surviving are his parents of Cary, mother in law Dorothy Christiansen of Elgin, brother Michael (Jean) Sargent of Lake in the Hills, sister Cindy (George) Rinda of Cary. Uncle Richard Kroeber of Oklahoma, Aunt Elaine Best of Arlington Hts., his best friend of over 50 yrs Dusty (Helen) Mohrbacher of Wis., and his loyal companion Abby.
Bob was preceded in death by his father in law Donald Christiansen and his grandparents.
Bob was a member of Teamsters Local 786, Elgin Riverside Club, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarence P. Schwarz Masonic Lodge and Medinah Temple.
Bob was a long time employee of VCNA Prairie Material Sales, a job which he dearly treasured.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct 26 from 4 to 8 pm at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St, Elgin with Masonic services being conducted at 7pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct 27 at 10 am in the Wait Ross Allanson Funeral Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin. Bob will be laid to rest at Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee, IL.
